How To Pack Smarter

How To Pack Smarter

Packing for a longer trip does not have to be overwhelming. As a seasoned traveler, I recommend packing lighter, not heavier. The goal is efficiency without sacrificing comfort.

I always recommend starting with a color palette. Neutral tones allow you to mix and match outfits easily, which reduces the number of items you need. This is especially helpful when visiting destinations like Paris, where style and practicality often go hand in hand.

Smart packing tips I share with clients:

  • Choose versatile clothing that can be layered and mixed and matched.

  • Limit shoes to two or three pairs maximum. Wear your heaviest shows on the plane.

  • Use packing cubes to stay organized.

  • Plan for laundry midway through the trip if you must.

  • Pack a foldable bag for souvenirs.

  • Keep essentials in your carry-on.

Another key consideration is mobility. Many destinations involve walking on cobblestone streets, navigating trains, or moving between hotels. A lighter suitcase makes all of that significantly easier.

The most successful travelers are not the ones who pack the most. They are the ones who pack with intention.
