La Paz, Mexico Experience

La Paz, Mexico Experience

I was fortunate enough to be invited on an adventure to La Paz, Mexico by another travel agent. What a fun experience I had. This was my first trip the the west coast of Mexico and I was not sure what to expect. It was mind blowing to see ocean, beach, desert, and mountains all in one landscape. I am not used to this in Florida. It was a completely different feel than the east coast in Cancun, Mexico.

I only had a limited amount of time in La Paz, so we decided to book an all day Sea of Cortez tour with a special sea lion colony snorkel. We boarded the boat and headed out on a 2 hour boat ride to Isla Espiritu Santo. We arrived at the sea loin colony and jumped in for a very memorable snorkel with the most fish I have ever seen. Not to mention a few playful sea lions that were excited to show off in front of us.

We stopped at a second snorkel spot with a large reef where were ran into one lone sea lion that was trying to impress us. We also spotted a few memorable areas along the way and had a fabulous lunch at one of the inlets. Pam even bought a fresh mango (with chili powder and lime on top) from a man on a boat.

Here are just a few of the highlights from our snorkel.

On our last night in La Paz we found Nemi. A highly rated restaurant (#1 in La Paz and top 100 in all of Mexico) that we knew we had to try. This small restaurant with about 8 tables was empty when we arrived, most locals eat lunch around 2/3pm and dinner at 7/8pm, but quickly filled up. Nemi serves up modern Mexican Cuisine with some surprises.

What an amazing meal and experience! The manager, Andres, took the time to give us recommendations for every course and cocktails to try. We tried all his recommendations and loved every minute of it.

You must try a mezcal cocktail with the recommended fruit selection of the day. I had my mezcal with passion fruit and grapefruit. The Burrata cheese with figs starter was unbelievable. Mahi Mahi sashimi was off the charts. The beef cheek melts in your mouth. Rosemary creme brulee...who knew this was so tasty?!? A solid 5 star review from me.

I can’t wait to plan my next trip to La Paz. There was so much I didn’t get to see and do.
