Hyatt Ziva- Los Cabos, Mexico

My trip to the west coast of Mexico wouldn’t be complete without staying a few nights in Cabo San Lucas. There area number of great resorts to stay at in Cabo. I decided on Hyatt Ziva to experience a family friendly resort with lots of food options, plenty of activities, a beautiful beach, and multiple pools.

Hyatt Ziva is a large resort with a main area, family area, and an adults only area. Hyatt Ziva makes for a great option when you have family and friends of all ages. Here are a few highlights:

  • Seven dining options and eight bars and lounges

  • Two-story Zen Spa with 18 indoor and outdoor treatment rooms and two VIP spa suites

  • Multiple pools including an infinity ocean-view pool and a tranquil adults-only pool with Baja Bar

  • Oceanfront and floating lagoon firepits ideal for relaxing evenings

  • Access to nearby championship golf, deep sea fishing and the famous Los Arcos rock formation

  • Unique setting in the desert climate of Baja Sur, overlooking the Sea of Cortez

  • 20 minutes from Los Cabos International Airport

I stayed in an Oceanview Master Double Suite. Were were upgraded to Club Level when we arrived. This means we had access to the private check in and checkout area, private lounge, upgraded mini bar menu, and superior room view.

One of the important features of a resort is the food. This is true for me and many of my clients. My go to breakfast is always chilaquiles. Chilaquiles is a Mexican dish consisting of corn tortillas that are fried, then sautéed with green or red salsa, and topped with cheese, crema, onion, and chicken or steak. Most Mexican resorts will offer this breakfast staple. Hyatt Ziva took it to another level by having a chilaquiles station to make your own.

I was able to experience a few of the dinner restaurants during my stay. Dozo, Asian cuisine, was my favorite dinner. I didn’t sit at a teppanyaki table but instead choose to get sushi and appetizers. Everything I tried was prettygood.

I also experienced Mexico’s Independence Day celebration at the resort. The resort set up a huge buffet and had entertainment and games set up in the main pool area. It was such a great experience to see the staff and visitors celebrating with one another.

Overall, I think Hyatt Ziva is a great option for families that want a great beach view, lots of activities and pools, and different dinner options each night. The resort is a short taxi to downtown Cabo San Lucas, San Jose del Cabo, and the airport.
