Last month, I had the opportunity to attend the ASTA River Cruise Expo in Amsterdam, and it was an incredibly valuable experience. Over the course of several days, I toured 16 different river cruise ships and spent time learning directly from some of the top names in the industry. Events like this allow me to stay current on everything from ship styles and onboard experiences to new itineraries and inclusions. Just as important, it gives me the chance to strengthen relationships with cruise partners so I can better advocate for my clients.

One of the biggest takeaways from the experience is that not all river cruise lines are created equal, and that is actually a good thing. Each brand is designed with a specific type of traveler in mind, whether that is a more active guest, someone seeking luxury and fine dining, travelers who prefer a relaxed accommodations, or more culturally focused experiences. There truly is a perfect fit for everyone, but not every cruise line will be the right match for every client. This is where my role becomes especially important in helping guide you to the experience that best aligns with your travel style.

Following the expo, I continued on with a five night sailing along the Rhine and Moselle Rivers aboard the Emerald Luna. This was a hands on experience where I stepped into the role of a client, experiencing every detail from the accommodations and dining to the excursions and level of service onboard. It gave me a true sense of what makes each river cruise unique and what details really matter when choosing the right fit.

Opportunities like this are one of the ways I ensure I am offering thoughtful, well informed recommendations. River cruising continues to grow in popularity, and having firsthand experience allows me to guide you with confidence when you are ready to explore this style of travel.

Visas and Vistas Travel: Looking Ahead

One of the most rewarding parts of my business is planning the journeys where my clients travel alongside me. These “Travel with Anne” experiences are designed with intention, combining thoughtfully selected destinations with the ease and comfort of having every detail handled in advance. As I look ahead to 2027, I am especially excited to begin shaping two unique group trips that offer very different, but equally memorable, travel experiences.

In the spring, I will be hosting a relaxing all inclusive getaway, perfect for those looking to unwind while still enjoying quality experiences together. In the fall, I am planning something truly special, a yacht cruise along the stunning coastline of Croatia, where historic towns, crystal clear waters, and smaller ports create a more intimate and immersive way to explore.

Right now, much of my time is spent carefully building these itineraries, selecting the right partners, and ensuring each trip reflects the level of service and experience my clients expect. These are not just vacations, but shared journeys, and I look forward to welcoming many of you along the way. More details to come soon!

Destination Highlight: Costa Rica – Nature, Adventure, and Pura Vida

Costa Rica is a destination that blends natural beauty with unforgettable experiences, making it a favorite for travelers seeking both relaxation and adventure. From the sun-soaked beaches of Guanacaste to the lush rainforests of Manuel Antonio, this Central American gem offers incredible biodiversity and year-round appeal. Visitors can zipline through the jungle canopy, spot sloths and monkeys in protected reserves, or unwind at eco-friendly resorts surrounded by nature. With its welcoming culture and strong focus on sustainability, Costa Rica invites travelers to slow down and embrace the simple, joyful spirit of “pura vida.”

At the heart of the country’s adventure lies the Arenal region, home to the iconic Arenal Volcano. This area is known for its striking views, natural hot springs, and abundance of outdoor activities. Guests can hike lava trails, explore hanging bridges, or relax in mineral-rich thermal pools set against a lush jungle backdrop. Waterfalls, wildlife, and guided excursions make Arenal a must-visit for first-time and returning travelers alike. Whether paired with the coast or enjoyed on its own, the Arenal region offers a perfect balance of excitement and relaxation in one of Costa Rica’s most scenic settings.

I love hosting group trips. Here is where I am heading in the coming year(s).
