You Can Afford to Travel
As a travel agent one of the biggest objections I get from clients is that they can’t afford to travel. I don’t know how many times I have heard “I would love to travel to XX, but can’t afford it” or “You are so lucky you can travel.” I don’t call it luck, I call it willing to make sacrifices in exchange for an experience.
With any big purchase you make, you need to save for it. When Tim and I decided to quit our jobs and travel for a year we made some significant life changes. For a year and a half we stopped eating out each week. I eliminated specialty coffee. We packed our lunches. I limited my online shopping. We both made more conscious spending decisions and asked ourselves before each purchase if we really needed that item. We saved and then we traveled.
Here are a few ideas on how to save this year so that you can travel next year:
You can sail on with Royal Caribbean on a 5 Night Western Caribbean Cruise visiting Grand Cayman and Mexico.
Or you can sail with Carnival on a 7 Day Eastern Caribbean Cruise visiting Turks, US Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, and the Dominican Republic.
You can travel with my favorite adventure supplier on an 8 Day Best of Egypt tour.
Or you can take a 9 Day Classic Egypt with 3 Day Nile Cruise with Gate 1 Travel.
You can stay at The Westin Maui Resort & Spa, Ka'anapali in an ocean view room.
Or you can stay at the Royal Lahaina Resort in one of their deluxe cottages.
