Seychelles, Africa
Mid way through our world tour adventure we planned a total relaxations stop. A week of just relaxing. No big excursions, no epic walking days, no hot weather, and no planning. We booked a week in Male, Seychelles just for that. We even upgraded our flights from India to First class. It was worth every penny to be able to lay down
The flight over the Seychelles was beautiful. Even from the plane the water was this gorgeous blue color.
We stayed at the Hilton Northolme Resort for the first half of our stay. We had this huge room with a beautiful view of the Indian Ocean. We had our own private patio. We spent most of our time hanging out at the endless pool and on the lounge chairs.
We did book one excursion to visit an area island with a tortoise conservation as well as a stop to snorkel on the way out there. We headed out on Teddy’s Glass Bottom Boat tour and were quickly surrounded by the most crystal clear blue water ever. You could see everything below you. We did a short walk around the island and meet the local turtles and hear a few pirate stories as well as a bbq lunch.
We did encounter a school of very excited zebra fish and some of their friends. They might have been excited because we threw some bread pieces in for them to go nuts over but excited nonetheless. This was the bulk of the fish we encountered. It was still an enjoyable day on the water.
Sadly, the Seychelles had a warm snap causing the water temperature to spike and killing the majority of the coral reef. As a result the fish moved on to different waters to live. With that being said snorkeling wasn’t all that exciting. Instead I enjoyed my time just floating in the ocean.
