August and September 2024 Newsletter
By now most of you with children are in back to school mode. Everyone is getting back on a schedule, shuttling little ones to and from activities, and going to bed before it is dark outside. After only a few weeks back, I know many of you are already thinking about the next break. Hang in there and let's start planning the spring break or summer vacation so you have something to look forward to.
The majority of my clients are traveling to the Caribbean, Mexico, Hawaii, Alaska, and Disney/Universal. Universal Epic is opening next Spring/Summer and I am expecting a big announcement soon for the exact date.
Here are a few things to note when planning to visit these areas:
The Caribbean/Mexico is at high season December through April. Resorts are already starting to sell out. If you are interested in traveling for Valentine's Day or spring break you will want to get this booked today.
I think we all know that Disney and Universal are the busiest when kids are out of school. So holidays, spring breaks, and summer will be busy and have limited resort options. The sooner you plan your Disney or Universal trip the better off you are. Disney takes advance planning as well when it comes to dining reservations and Lightening Passes. I am here to help with that.
Alaska has turned into one of my top summer family vacation destinations. Alaska has a shorter travel season due to the weather and only runs from mid May to mid September (I have recommended times to travel during this window). When cruising in Alaska, it is important to have a balcony and have it facing the correct side of the ship. These things often create limited availability. If this is on your list, don't wait any longer. I am already planning 2026 Alaska trips!

It is finally here! My Travel with Anne group cruise to the Mediterranean! This group cruise has been in the works for almost two years now. I am so excited to be sailing with some of my regular Travel with Anne clients and a bunch of new ones too.
We will be sailing on Norwegian Cruise Line's newest and most innovative ship, the Norwegian Viva. We have a jam packed itinerary with stops in Greece, Turkey, France, and Italy. I will be posting as much as possible to the Visas and Vistas Travel Facebook page. Follow along!
I will be out of the office from October 17, 2024 - November 4, 2024. While I won't be completing new quotes during these dates, I will be available to my traveling clients.
Here are some of the trip requests I worked on this past month:
Pacific Honeymoon - A client was referred to me to help plan her honeymoon. This couple wanted to go big! They planned to take about three weeks to travel to some of their most wanted destinations. They will be starting in Australia and visiting the Great Barrier Reef. They then head to New Zealand for a road trip full of hiking, kayaking, spelunking, and geothermal adventures. They cap off their trip on their way home by stopping in Bora Bora with a stay in an overwater bungalow. This will be the perfect way to end their trip. As you can imagine, this trip has taken a few weeks for us to plan but I think we are there now!
Costa Rica Honeymoon - I love when clients want adventure for their honeymoon. I should have known this was going to be the case when this client contacted me about planning her honeymoon. Last year they went to Egypt (first major trip!) and had a great time. They will be visiting Monteverde hiking, playing in waterfalls, and walking along the hanging bridges and Arenal hiking a volcano, rafting, and searching for sloths. They have just enough activities to fill the day with plenty of time to relax at their resort.
Alaska Cruise Tour - An existing client will be visiting Alaska for the THIRD time in three years. If that isn't an endorsement on how wonderful Alaska is, I don't know what is. This is her biggest trip yet with 7 days on land followed by 7 days at sea. She will be seeing a few new places she hasn't experienced yet too. You can tell just how much she loves this destination.
Croatia Guided Tour - This one is about me. I have been eyeing this tour ever since I booked it for a client about 6 months ago (they travel this week). I couldn't stop thinking about it. The tour went on sale and I found a friend who immediately said yes. We will visit the Cathedral of Zagreb, with its soaring twin spires. We will hike Plitvice Lakes National Park, a wonderland of 16 interconnecting lakes, flanked by waterfalls. Then head to Hvar island for some exploring and relaxing. I can't wait for this adventure.
