What to Do in Aruba

What to Do in Aruba

As I work my way around the Caribbean, I know my next big Caribbean trip will be the ABC islands. The ABC Islands consist of Aruba, Bonaire, and Curaçao. There are a number of cruise lines that will stop at all three islands on one itinerary or you can visit them an island at a time. These islands are great to visit any time fo the year as they are below the hurricane belt and vary rarely get bad weather. Aruba is probably the most popular island. So let’s start there with some of the fun activities to do in Aruba.

Scuba Diving

Scuba Diving is very popular in Aruba. The island has a number of shipwrecks to explore unde the sea. You will spot sea turtles, green and spotted moray eels, stingrays, yellow tail snappers and more.

Not PEDI certified? No worries. With a little prework you can get certified in Aruba.

Snorkeling

Maybe you aren't as adventures and would prefer snorkeling over diving. Hop on a catamaran and sail out to snorkel a number of crystal clear snorkel sites. Enjoy the boat ride, relax in the sun, and see how many marine animals you can spot.

Kitesurfing

Break out of your comfort zone and experience the thrills and spills of kiting in the crystal-clear, waist-deep water at Fishermen’s Huts. Take a kite surfing lesson from the experts. You’ll start with learning the basics and the most important part of kitesurfing: learning how to control a kite. After a short session on land, you’ll drag your own body in the water using the power of the kite a technique you’ll need to get back to your board later on. When you manage to go upwind with your kite and can handle strong power dips, you’re ready to get on the board. Once you get the hang of putting it all together, you’ll be hooked.

Windsurfing

Maybe kitesurfing is too thrilling and you want something a bit closer to the ground. Wind Surfing might be a better fit. Feel the fun and freedom of dancing on the water with Aruba’s trade winds
